Role Specific Details

The Dispatcher leads the safe conduct of operational control concerning the planning, dispatch, release, and movement of all Company aircraft over the routes under their control. This is a union represented position.

 

This role will be based in HNL for approximately a 2 year timeframe supporting the AS operation, and will relocate to SEA to support the AS/HA combined organization.

Key Duties

  • Responsible for safety, operational control, and operational reliability for assigned flights.
  • Brief crews during preflight and update as necessary regarding current weather, NOTAMS, field conditions, and airport facilities.
  • Distribute flight plans and flight releases, reroute flights as necessary, and calculate appropriate fuel loads.
  • Execute all assigned flight operations in compliance with Federal Air Regulation (FARs) and Company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure the information necessary to perform flight dispatch duties is available and current at the start of each shift.
  • Maintain operational control of assigned flights through effective flight monitoring.
  • Monitor and update FLIFO.
  • Initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Coordinate with all appropriate parties during irregular operations.
  • Apply MEL/CDL penalties as appropriate.
  • Oversee operational efficiency by optimizing routes and flight plans to ensure flights are punctual and cost effective.
  • Ensure flights comply with international and local regulations.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • Possession of a valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher’s Certificate.
  • Sound working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, weather, and technical dispatch skills.
  • Must be able to work any shift or day of the week in a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all ground training requirements and proficiencies for dispatchers as specified in the Dispatcher Training Manual.
  • Ability to possess and/or obtain a current passport prior to start date with unlimited access in and out of the United States. Employees with non-U.S. passports also will need any appropriate travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted in and out of all countries within which AAG operates.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Minimum age of 23.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to communicate in English.

Preferred

  • Four-year college degree, preferably in an aviation related field of study.
  • -OR- 5 years of airline operation experience.
  • -OR- 3 years recent flight Dispatch experience.
  • -OR- a combination of the above, including some college and/or a two-year college degree.
  • 2 years international dispatch experience.

Starting Rate

USD $38.17/Hr.
